Virbac Tapewormer for Dogs and Cats Price per tablet Composition: Praziquantel 50 mg. For the treatment of Tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum, Taenia sp. Spirometra erinacei) in dogs and cats including hydatids (Echinococcus granulosus) in dogs. Warnings Do not feed offal of any species to dogs. Dosage and Administration Dogs- 1 tablet/10 kg bodyweight (5 mg/kg bodyweight). Cats: Less than 1.5 kg- 1/4 tablet (12.5 mg). 1.6 to 5 kg. 1/2 tablet (25 mg). Greater than 5 kg- 3/4 tablet (37.5 mg). If the animal is still passing segments after the above treatment, these segments probably belong to a little known tapeworm, Spirometra erinacei, which belongs to a different family.
